Welcome to the fascinating world of wildlife.

My photographic interests began in the late 70s, and have always varied between scenics and four-legged creatures. For one reason or another, one will rarely find any non-bird two-legged captures in my portfolio.

After my first few visits to East Africa starting in the mid-80s, I began to encourage my friends and acquaintances to experience the beauty of the African savannah and the vast amount of wildlife that has brought fame to that part of the world. ‘See it now before it disappears’ was my recommendation to those who may have expressed a life-long desire to witness wildlife in their natural habitat.

I have been organizing group safari trips to East Africa since 1995, and have established a good working relationship with the various hotels, camps and drivers required for a 2-3 week safari. So, if anyone reading this might be interested in a photo safari to East Africa, please contact me with questions and / or advice.

My groups have been mostly limited to 5-8 individuals. This was purposely arranged in order to provide maximum attention to each individual, to help them capture the magical trophy images that will remind them for many years of their once-in-a-lifetime safari adventure.

Complaints I’ve heard from any of my group members always seemed to be that the trips were too short. On the other side of the coin, I’ve received a number of unexpected “it’s the best holiday I’ve ever had”. Also, a number of individuals have joined my safari group multiple times.

Here’s a quick rundown of my photographic equipment:

I have been a Nikon user all of my photographic life, starting in the film days with a Nikkormat FS; and I primarily use the following equipment:

  • D5 body
  • D850 body
  • 24 mm / f2
  • 105 mm / 2.8
  • 24-70 mm / 2.8 VR
  • 70-200 mm / 2.8 VR
  • 300 mm / 2.8 VR
  • 500 mm / 4
  • TC1.4x
  • TC1.7x

This list obviously does not include any of the miscellaneous photographic ‘stuff’ that one accumulates to help with various types of shoots.

The images in this website span the years 2000 to 2018.
